With the fast pace of the world today, we all look for the fastest route to the outcome we want. You might have asked yourself, what is the secret sauce of mindset?
In this post we will look at what I have found to be the secret that seems to be at the top of the list. Now there are so many ideas of what you should focus on when it comes to mindset.
So where should you start?
The single biggest thing that I have found is CONSISTENCY. This week I interviewed James Gemmel who is one of South Africa’s highest-ranked Jiu-Jitsu athletes. I was fascinated that James said the single biggest thing that determines success in Jiu-Jutsu is consistency. In fact, his words were, “Being consistently consistent”. Wow, well that’s what I have been saying about mindset!
I have looked at many of the top motivational speakers will tell you that if you just show up half the battle has been won. I am going to give you a few ways and tools which you can use to improve your mindset daily.
Let’s get into it…
As I mentioned the secret is consistently working on your mindset. Does this sound familiar:
You decide you want to learn something or perhaps you want to change a habit and you sign up for a course. You spend thousands and the entire day in a workshop only to find yourself a month later not remembering anything.
Studies are showing that it’s better to focus on something a few minutes every day that an hour once a week.
Here are a few ways you can work on your mindset daily:
- Read some content that’s related to mindset daily
- Listen to a podcast or audiobook book a few minutes daily
- Purchase some online short courses or eBooks
- If you on Facebook join some mindset groups
- Sign up for a weekly or monthly newsletter on mindset
Now that we know the secret sauce of mindset is consistency, lets have a look at some useful tools we can use.

Conclusion
At the start of this post I said that the secret sauce is consistency. This can be applied to not only mindset but all aspect of life. To do anything of importance you need to be consistent. Changing or having a growth mindset is not different.
There are so many free tools like the examples above so there is no excuse. Mindset is one of the most overlooked topics when it comes to success.
