I’m going to be speaking about, a coaching niche. So, the mainstream information out there is, is to choose a niche. The typical information is this idea of building a website or choosing your niche then building a website, posting some posts on Facebook or some social media platform, and start attracting clients. I don’t believe in choosing a niche. And the reason is that it just doesn’t work, especially when you starting to coach, first of all, you’re making it so difficult when you have this niche where I only coach men between the age of 25 and 30, that is six foot nine with blue eyes and brown hair. I mean, it’s just, that you’re limiting yourself so badly.

The other thing or the reason why I say it doesn’t work is you just don’t know who you are going to enjoy coaching? Because the reality is, that you’ve done no coaching. So how would you know that you enjoy coaching only men or only coaching women or whatever the case maybe?
That’s why I say the best is to just start coaching. We always say that the niche will find you. And here’s the thing once you’ve coached a lot, that niche does tend to find you. You might be surprised as to who you actually enjoy coaching because it might not be what you initially thought in the beginning.

So many coaches I speak to, choose the niche, they struggle, then they change. They choose another niche, they struggle and every time they’re changing all of their marketing stuff, their websites, they just don’t end up ever coaching because they’re so busy trying to choose the niche or trying to find their niche. Missing the point of, if you just started coaching and you coached as much as possible, you would actually just find your niche or the niche would find you, it’s something that just happens. The other thing of why choosing a niche up front just doesn’t work is, or why I don’t think you should do that is, because why would you limit yourself as to who you can serve?
In the beginning, the priority as a coach, when you’re just starting out is to coach and coach as much as possible because you’re going to get experience. You going to get confidence and through all of that coaching, you will then find your niche. This is not some conundrum thing that you have to try and figure out upfront before you can start coaching, you can start coaching and the niche tends to find you.
